I’m outraged! I hate iTunes but i hate more Safari. That browser is not even rendering page correctly on Windows and what i found this morning.. They put safari as a push on the automatically updates from apple software. What will happen? people that only have quicktime will be asked to install safari without knowing what it is! That is the same with iTunes but PC people already know iTunes.

What’s next? Safari will open after the install and ask the user if he wants safari as the default browser?

Anyway, people have to know that Safari Sucks big times and Mozilla firefox is The Browser of choice.

My two cents.

A person who is interested in technology, especially computing and new media. Most geeks are adept with computers, and treat the term hacker as a term of respect, but not all are hackers themselves.

J’ai renoué avec Gentoo. Après quelques années sans l’avoir utilisé, implanté, j’ai décidé de monter un serveur gentoo question de voir où mes connaissances sous linux étaient rendu et aussi d’optimiser les performances de la machine en question.

Pour ceux qui ne sont pas familié avec Gentoo, Gentoo c’est une distribution Linux qui utilise le package manager Portage, un port de BSD. La philosophie Gentoo est l’optimisation d’un système pour sont utilisation. Tout est compilé de la source selon le type de votre processeur et vous décidé si tel application sera compilé avec des USES, une façon de dire: “Je veux pas cette option, mais je veux celle-là”. Bref, tout ça pour dire que vous êtes maître de votre OS. Ce que ça apporte? Une très grande optimisation du système d’exploitation ET évidemment, une grande connaissance de linux. Gentoo est l’école de linux à mon avis. Le manuel d’installation explique beaucoup de concept sur linux qui est utile pour toutes les distributions Linux.

Bref, Gentoo ça Rock!!

Je suis tombé sur un projet de google dont je n’étais pas au courant. Orkut.com, un clone facebook développé par google.

Selon Wikipedia:

The initial target market for Orkut was the United States, but the majority of its users are in Brazil.

Selon moi, je crois pas que orkut arrive à faire quelques choses versus facebook qui est vraiment rendu un phénomene.
